I like 1984 the more I read it. When I first read it 3 years ago I liked it but I didn't really get the importance of it. Even though it was written in 1949 it is extremely relevant to the political atmosphere of the current age. While I normally don't like futuristic literature such as Vonnegut's Slaughterhous 5, Orwell's 1984 is more philosophic then hopeless. It is a book that gets you thinking about the state of the world, and I always recommend those.
