Moving across country is going to be soooooo expensive. I shudder to think about it. I've started looking for rates on moving trucks and they range from $800 with Budget and $1600 with Uhaul. Uhaul automatically gives you 9 days. I only need 4-5, so no thanks Uhaul.
There are just some things I don't want to get rid of, mail, or give away and that I can't fit in my car. Come May there might be a lot of free college furniture up for grabs if any one is interested.

Be sure to look at the fine print and see if there is a "per mile" charge as well. I believe U-haul tacks that on (perhaps you already took that into consideration with the price quote listed). Our friends rented a Penske truck. Did you check their rates? There's a discount if you have an AAA membership (which we don't have, but our friends did).
I looked into all kinds of these things before moving, and then realized I could live without a lot of my things for now. Someday when we buy a house then we'll do the whole moving truck thing and bring it all down to Texas. Yay for parents storing things in the meantime.

Thought you'd like this owl chickie chickie.
Yeah, I took that into consideration. Uhaul is ridiculous. Budget has unlimited miles.
it's so sad to think of you moving 3000 miles away!
